Approach
The approach we take
We want to hear your health story, as we believe no one knows your body better than you. Once we get to know each other, we’ll talk about what we hear from you, what we believe is happening with your body, what we think could help, and why we are suggesting what we are.
In order to see success, it’s important for you to not only understand what we are recommending, but also the why behind it. We will do this in the most simplified, practical way possible — no confusing science, no lack of direction. It’s critical that you are ready and committed to adjust your lifestyle habits and to put in the hard work, as well as are willing to invest the time, energy and resources it takes to get the results you’re striving for. You ARE worth the commitment and investment in yourself, and we can provide you with the direction you need to get back to the life you deserve. And, if for some reason we can’t provide all the answers, we will help you find the right practitioner who can.
Getting to the root cause
Our symptoms — whether it’s weight or body fat gain, fatigue, insomnia, joint or muscle pain, brain fog, mood changes, menstrual irregularities, hot flashes, skin rashes, or something else — are our body’s way of telling us that something is wrong. We never want our clients to assume that just because their symptoms seem common that it means they’re normal. We’ll get to the root cause/s of your symptoms so rather than just masking them, we can actually correct and eliminate them.
Using personalized programming
No two people are the same, not to mention what worked for you in your 20s may not work the same for you in your 40s or 50s. That’s why there’s no standard, cookie-cutter approach to what we do — everything is individual and personalized. We’ll figure out what’s best for your health, your goals and where you’re at in life, then we’ll work together through a phased program that’ll get you the results you’re striving for.
Changing the destiny of your genes
Our genetics certainly play a role in our long-term health, however, in terms of disease risk, it’s actually a very small role. What plays a bigger part are lifestyle factors, such as diet, stress, sleep, exercise and environmental toxins — these can all cause your genes to turn on or off. Your body is designed to repair and regenerate itself if it’s provided the right environment, giving you the option to control your genetic destiny.
Using food as medicine
As Hippocrates so wisely stated, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” When it comes to preventing disease and optimizing your health, your body gets its information from food. There are some standards most everyone should follow, however, everyone is different — a food that may act as medicine in your body may act as poison in someone else’s. We’ll determine which foods are your friends and which are your foes, as well as work to heal your gut so you’re able to digest, absorb, and utilize the nutrients you need from your food.
Taking a holistic focus
Not only will we work together to address and optimize your nutritional intake, but we’ll also tackle the other lifestyle factors that impact how you function including exercise, stress resiliency, sleep, and toxin exposure. Based on your needs, your goals and where you’re starting from, we’ll determine which areas you could use help in and how to strategically tackle change.
Our phased approach
Your immediate goal may just be immediate relief from your symptoms — that’s OK. However, our ultimate goal will be to set you up for a long, healthy life. We’ll do this by taking a three-phase approach.
-
Phase 1: Reset and repair
This initial phase provides rapid results, reducing any of your immediate symptoms and enhancing your day-to-day function. Typically, this phase lasts about one to three months, with drastic improvements often occurring in the first few weeks.
-
Phase 2: Rebalance
The second phase focuses on rebalancing the pertinent systems in your body, including your hormones and immune, gastrointestinal and detoxification systems. How long this phase lasts depends on the individual, but usually takes between two to six months. However, more time may be needed depending on how many systems we’re addressing.
-
Phase 3: Rejuvenation
This is the final phase, where you’ll get a sustainable action plan to achieve and maintain a healthy life long-term. This phase is ongoing, unless a new issue arises that we need to address by returning to a previous phase.

Growing up I was overweight and ate a diet made up of convenient, processed foods. Then, when I was 16 years old, I had a tonsillectomy that resulted in weight loss. Seeing that I actually had muscle beneath my fat was enough to inspire me to abandon the unhealthy habits I had learned — I started exercising regularly, preparing nutritious meals and moving toward a holistic way of living.
As happy as I was about my new way of life, I was even more ecstatic when I learned I could make a career out of helping others do the same.
